Description

The Barons have been affiliated with the Chicago White Sox since 1986 and are the only Class AA team in the country to have drawn a quarter of a million fans during each of the last 21 years. It all takes place at Regions Field, one of the most beautiful parks in all the minor leagues. Every seat is close to the action.

The history of the Birmingham Barons traces back to 1885, when the Barons (originally named the Coal Barons) played in the many southern leagues that existed during the early years of baseball, playing games at the nation’s oldest ballpark, Rickwood Field. In those years, the leagues came and went, but baseball in Birmingham survived.
