BIRMINGHAM, Ala., February 29, 2024 – TechBirmingham has announced that Sloss Tech, the five-time sold-out tech conference, is returning downtown, Thursday, June 27 – Friday, June 28, 2024.

The conference will feature an expanded, two-day menu of programming that will coincide with opportunities for collision among startup founders, investors, STEM professionals, and tech enthusiasts. Attendees can expect a full lineup of keynote speakers, track panels, networking spaces, and street-level activations. The historic Lyric Theatre will serve as the conference hub, with breakout sessions taking place at Sidewalk Film Center and Cinema, as well as satellite experiences nearby.

Sloss Tech returned in 2023 after a multi-year hiatus caused by the pandemic, with the City of Birmingham serving as an official community partner. Throughout its five years, the conference has welcomed audiences representing 47 states to Birmingham, millions of online impressions, and keynotes such as Cameo co-founder Devon Townsend, renowned entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk, Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian, and top tech marketing executive Bozoma Saint John.

“Sloss Tech is an economic driver for the City of Birmingham, bringing attendees and speakers from around the country to experience our ecosystem – but more than that – it’s an incredible showcase of talent, innovation and startup support,” said Maria Underwood, Birmingham Bound President and current Chairwoman, TechBirmingham Board of Directors.

The recent conference heralded the launch of TechBirmingham’s Next in Tech program, which serves to engage and enrich STEM college students from campuses across the state. This program will continue to offer a reserve of complimentary tickets to students and early tech

professionals, with an emphasis on HBCU-affiliated individuals. Next in Tech applications will open in April.

TechBirmingham is proud to continue its partnership with Telegraph Creative to bring the Sloss Tech experience to life.

“We were so thrilled with the turnout for last year’s reboot and the support from the Birmingham tech community has been really incredible. We’re very excited to continue growing Sloss Tech and moving to a two day event this year is a great next step toward that.” said Seth Griffin, Chief Creative Officer of Telegraph Creative.

A limited release of early bird tickets for VIP ($299) and General Admission ($199) tiers will go on sale on Friday, March 1 at 10 a.m. CST, via SLOSS.tech. Ticket prices will increase April 1, when 2024 speakers and schedule are announced.

Interested attendees can follow all the Sloss Tech updates on social media and through its newsletter, which can be signed up for via the conference website. Companies and organizations who are interested in sponsoring Sloss Tech or buying blocks of tickets can email sponsors@techbirmingham.com.
