Birmingham CVB gets Readers’ Choice Award
We’re patting ourselves on the back after getting notice we’ve received ConventionSouth magazine’s 2015 Readers’ Choice Award. The trade publication’s readers vote to decide the best meeting sites in the South, along with the level of customer service and quality facilities. This is the sixth time the Birmingham CVB has won the award since it was introduced in 2001. More than 5,000 voters participated in this year’s selection process. Holocaust Survivors Exhibit Opens
Visitors to Vulcan Park and Museum are finding a sensitive exhibition of photography entitled Darkness into Life: Alabama’s Holocaust Survivors through Photography and Art. Running through May 2016, the exhibit gives special glimpses into the memories of some of the state’s Holocaust survivors. Bold, thought-provoking paintings and photographs are accompanied by stories shared by the survivors. www.visitvulcan.com

Golf on the Bucket List
Birmingham is on a new bucket list featured in the November issue of Southwest Airlines’ inflight magazine. The publication suggests a trip to play golf at Birmingham’s two Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail courses at Ross Bridge and Oxmoor Valley.
