Mission
The Greater Birmingham Convention and Visitors Bureau is a non-profit agency chartered for the purpose of marketing and promoting the greater Birmingham area as a premier destination for conventions, meetings, and tour and travel. The Bureau's mission is to broaden and expand promotional efforts on behalf of the city and its business constituency through advertising and marketing programs designed to sell guest rooms in area lodging facilities. The Bureau's role is one of major contributor to the economic, social and cultural development in the community. By focusing on amenities which define Birmingham as a favorable venue for conventions and visitors, the Bureau helps to stimulate economic activity for the area.

Meet our professional and courteous tourism staff. They are available to assist you in planning your group tour to Birmingham. Marketing and Communications Staff
The Marketing and Communications Division promotes media coverage for the Greater Birmingham area through media tours, news releases and a vast array of publications including meeting and travel planners guides, annual and quarterly event calendars and ongoing development of the website. The department also oversees the creation, production and placement of advertising as well as an extensive visual library.
