The newly-renovated Boutwell Municipal Auditorium is surrounded by the eclectic architectural mixture of the downtown Birmingham business district. Boutwell's interior, cunningly decorated in art deco fashion, is the site of two entertainment areas. The large Main Arena seats 5,700 people at full capacity and the smaller Exhibition Hall will hold a maximum of 1,000. From sports events, elegant balls, rock concerts and other theatrical productions, to receptions, fashion and trade shows and meetings of all types, the Boutwell Municipal Auditorium offers facilities to accommodate a wide variety of activities.

The 20,350-square-foot Main Arena is the ideal location for events such as major concerts, plays, trade shows and other affairs that require a large seating capacity. Its four seating areas, the Main Floor, Dress Circle, Grand Tier and Balcony, provide ample variation in seating arrangements. The well-equipped stage and orchestra pit have delighted audiences with everything from opera and broadway shows to country and rhythm & blues concerts.

A perfect setting for smaller events, the 9,000-square-foot second floor Exhibition Hall overlooks a refurbished Linn Park with its beautifully lit, bi-level water fountain and shaded seating areas. A portable stage, which can be arranged in various configurations, promotes a high degree of flexibility. Seating arrangements, from theatre style to cabaret style, can be designed to suit your needs.
