Generating tremendous interest nationally and internationally, the Medical Forum brings a new dimension to the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center. The ten-story facility is the first in the country to test the union of medical education and product marketing. Remarkable interactive education takes place in the 270-seat auditorium. Here seminar participants converse via fiber-optic signals and satellite linking with surgeons performing medical procedures. The auditorium is equipped with wireless response pads and translation services. A demonstration laboratory has 24 fully-equipped workstations with closed-circuit monitors for surgical workshops. A state-of-the-art telecommunication and teleconferencing center offers complete staffing for video conferences and audiovisual production. The communications center is available for public use in video editing, dubbing and other pre- and post-production. Complete conference services are available for meetings requiring these unique features as well as for standard meetings.

Sales offices and showroom space are available for lease in the Medical Forum. The medical seminar traffic creates a constant audience for marketing medical products and services in an environment conducive to sales.

The Medical Forum is connected to the 771-room Sheraton Civic Center Hotel, with access to the BJCC Exhibition Hall and meeting rooms via skywalk.
